Description
The Steller's Sea Eagle is the world's largest and most spectacular--it is recognizable by it's massive yellow bill and bold pattern of white on the head, shoulders, tail and thighs, which stands out against the dark body. It’s diet consists of salmon, cod, ducks and seal carrion. Usually it lays 2 eggs in early April to May. Hatching occurs in June, and the young ones are able to fly by mid August or September.
Taken at the eagle enclosure in Assiniboine Park, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

WOW.. I had no idea that Steller had an eagle named after him too? Or is this a name from someone else? It's a gorgeous image! Great detail in his feathers and those orange yellow beak and talons.. He looks like he is wearing pantaloons on his legs.. hehe.. VF... Thanks for your visits to my page too Larry! I appreciate it.. FV
